Calling All High School and College Soccer Players and Teams!

Do you care about equal pay?

Do you believe that women and girls’ soccer programs deserve equal investment?

Inspired by the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team players, the Equal Play Equal Pay campaign is a grassroots effort to engage everyone – especially female soccer players in high school and college – to address the problem of unequal pay and unequal investment in women’s and girl’s soccer, both in the U.S. and worldwide.

The USWNT is taking on the U.S. Soccer Federation in court both for equal pay and equal investment. Despite widespread public admiration and support for the USWNT, the U.S. Soccer Federation is still pushing back and doing things like hiring a lobbyist firm to negate the USWNT’s quest for equal pay and equal investment.

Clearly, we still need to make our voices heard – loud, proud, and often.

What Are We Doing?

The Equal Play Equal Pay campaign raises awareness, spurs action, and supports culture change for equal pay and equal investment in soccer programs for women and girls, in the U.S. and around the world. Our aim is to mobilize high school soccer players to make their voices heard and support U.S. Women’s Soccer through a combination of merch (proceeds from our tees and onesies benefit the U.S. Women’s National Team), social media, events, and more.

What Can I Do?

There are many ways to create impact as part of the Equal Play Equal Pay campaign. You could:

  • Design and lead social media campaigns and blitzes.

  • Plan Equal Play Equal Pay events at your school, with your soccer club, and/or other partner organizations.

  • Make your voice heard through blogposts, letters to the editor in local papers, and beyond.

  • Engage your peers in meaningful action and culture change for the U.S. Women’s National Team and U.S. Women’s and Girl’s Soccer as a whole.

  • Brainstorm other creative ways to get the word out and engage more people.
